Bangor is Gwynedd's only city and its most northern location. The city is famous for its connections with the University of Wales and consequently has a large number of student events going on. There are a number of local attractions in Bangor including the Neo-Norman Penrhyn Castle owned and operated by the National Trust. The castle has extensive gardens and art collections to explore.
Another attraction is Bangor Pier, the second longest in Wales, which extends out towards the Isle of Anglesey across the Menai Straits.
